Ranting about everything terrific and terrible about motherhood. (The good...the bad... & well, the poopy!) :)
Happy Holidays
He fears no veggie!
Today, not much has changed from when I was a kid. Most toddlers are totally into mashed potatoes, mac-n-cheese and any food from the golden arches.
My son is one of those kids that actually eats their veggies. This afternoon for lunch I made him a salad with baby spinich leaves, tomatoes, carrots, green peppers topped, with vidalia onion vinaigrette. Edamamae on the side with cubes of colby-jack cheese.
Now that's a good lunch!

Lackluster
We have discussed our “problem”. However, we are unable to hammer out anything since we have the whole communicating issue. It is like a catch 22.
I enjoy his company most of the time. It breaks my hear that we have managed to stay married for almost 11 years, but we have nothing to say to each other. Why? I don’t get it. Are we bored? Yes, maybe. Are we tired… yes, but I don’t think it is of each other. We are just drained when it is time for “us” time. So we put it off and on the back burner. Now we are almost like room mates, who on occasion share a dinner and a family outing with the little guy.
I feel stuck. I feel lonely. I know that he also feels this way. The question is what to do about it?"
You Can't Catch Me... (today anyways)
Hopefully I can evade those demons that are always nipping at my heels. At least for a while now that I am on the right meds. Yep, back to effexor. But, hey, whatever works... right?
Today
Thankful for my son and my sweet husband. I am aslo thankful for our MotMot.
The weekend is coming up. We plan to go to the river walk if weather isn't too bad.
I am thankful for every day I have.
Building A Brain
We also make sure to get plenty of play time. Whaether it's one on one our all three of us rolling around in the floor.
Sometimes my hubby and I just lay there and watch him in amazement. He is so smart. We love to watch his mind work as he figures out things.
He truely is a gift from G-D.
Some of our favorites...
Reading: On The Night You Were Born
On the night you were born,
the moon smiled with such wonder
that the stars peeked in to see you
and the night wind whispered.
“Life will never be the same.”
Playing with wood blocks or singing our ABCs.
Listening to music: Bohemian Rhapsody (we sing this to Jacob all the time, and he loves it!)
Food and a Table
My husband and I started doing this because we want to let our son know how important family togetherness really is.
They say there is no place to reconnect like that of a table full of food and family. Given how smoothly the last 2 weeks have gone in my home, I think that this is very true.
I am glad this is a good habit and example we have decided to set for our son.
Today I Know
I know that one day you will not need me
The time has went by so fast
All I can do is stand by, unable to stop moment
While you sleep in my arms
I think about the time you fit in the crook of my arm
Small an sweet
Now you are bigger
One whole year
Still as sweet as the day we brought you home
I hope you always know your mother’s love
If a the day should ever come that you question my love
G-D forbid…
All you’ll have to do is look and you will see it there
A reflection of the beautiful boy that will become a man
Never doubt that I now know what it is like to live
With my heart outside my body
And yes, painful, but it can be done
Many Thanks
You never really know how fast time goes by until you mark each and every day in ypur memory. Be it the first time he held his head up or rolled over.
I guess I never realized how wonderful parenthood could realy be.
Thank you Jacob.

There Once Was A Woman Named Tara...
Since becoming a mama, I find that lists help me out. So here’s a hodge-podge list of things I think about almost everyday.
My house continually looks like a disaster zone.
Healthy food really is harder than eating doughnuts for dinner.
I can’t eat doughnuts for dinner, because I’m the mom, (I need to set an example).
I may never complete a single thought again.
My husband and I are tired ALL the time. (Could be the company we have in our bed as of late).
Buy a more comfortable couch to sleep on.
When will I ever again have time to get (fill in the blank) done?
How does he see that on the floor with those sweet little eyes and get into his mouth in 0.2 seconds?
Grocery store = alone time for me.
Jailhouse Rock-A-Bye-Baby
I had a person email me and ask if I would just give it to her because she needed it and had no money. Then she proceeded to tell me the baby's daddy was in jail and she already had one child.
In these economic times, most everyone is having a hard time.
Now, keep in mind I am selling this to make money for MY family!
My first thought was to tell her to start off by having her internet disconnected to save money, then maybe she could ask for handouts.
Here's a clue.... GET A JOB! Any job, just as long as you can help take care of your own children. Stop expecting other to do it for you!
However, I thought better of sending her an ugly email. Still, it irritted the piss outta' me, but hey, being a mom has mellowed me just a little.
So I wish her luck, but unfortunatly for her... my swing is still for sale.
